N'Kob was a lucky find for us; the guidebook has only a paragraph or two of a write up, but it was in the right direction and in the right region so we decided to stop in and were glad that we had.

The village itself is basic and dusty, but it conceals some lovely hotels and a very welcoming people behind its mud plastered walls. There are plenty of attractive restored kasbahs around (several of which are also hotels), the nearby palm grove offers a pleasant spot to walk and the mountains to the north and south have ample hiking opportunities.
